Drew Peneton is the author of Boots to Suits and an Army National Guard veteran of both Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom II. Described as a “thought leader” by the Chairman of the Society for Human Resource Management and a six-term Mayor, his first-hand stories have “helped educate business executives and policymakers…about the experience and positive attitude he and his fellow veterans can bring to the world of business.” He now spends his time as an Edward Jones neighborhood financial advisor for individual investors using a time-tested investment philosophy and strategic goal planning for retirement, tax and educational needs.  Previously, he spent his days in field supervision and operations management for a Fortune 50 corporation, whDrew Penetonere he gained experience in marketing services and research, community management and project execution. He was a Distinguished Honor Graduate in the Army Primary Leadership Development Course, and is a recipient of the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, an Army Commendation Medal, five Army Achievement Medals and many more honors. He holds a BA in Finance from Eastern Washington University, where he was also the chapter president of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, an undergraduate representative of the university disciplinary committee and part of the Sigma Alpha Lambda Honors and Leadership Organization.

After traveling for several years with a corporate field supervision position and witnessing the difficulty civilians have entering the job market without guidance, Drew decided it was time to reach out with a personal touch to veterans returning from deployment or otherwise ending their service to join the civilian job world. He started the blog Boots To Suits to help give guidance and provide assistance to those who lack knowledge about, or are frustrated with, the condition of the civilian job market.

Drew’s passions include continuing to serve the veterans of his country and caring for the wellbeing of others. Originally from Grants Pass, Oregon, and now a resident of Phoenix, Arizona, he is the oldest of three siblings and the son of an Air Force veteran. When not working with the local community, writing valuable advice for transitioning soldiers or seeing the local sites, he can be found contributing travel and self-improvement articles to online and offline communities, snowboarding the nearest runs, hiking the nearest peak or sampling the flavor of local microbrews.
